Smash Booking

Today I'm going to show you some pages from my Smash book.
I only started it last year having learnt about Smashbooking on YouTube.
So what is it? Well it's a little bit like scrapbooking and a little bit like journalling. The difference being it doesn't have to be perfect, or in order. You just stick things into it however and whenever you want.
So I've had a box of "stuff" forever. Things like concert tickets, bits cut out magazines, cards off friends that I can't throw out, old photos with bits attached to them like leaflets, ice cream spoons or postcards from an event or holiday long gone. bits of pretty papers, used stamps, pretty buttons, etc you get the idea. They were all just crammed into a box and every now and then I'd take them out and look at them, then they'd all go back in the box. Here's where the Smash book comes in.
I took everything out of the box and sorted it into time, place, colour, theme, what looked good together, then just stuck it all into my Smash book. Sometimes I added some writing, but mostly I just glued it all in. The results:-

Sorry some of the photos are sideways.

I'm Back!!

Everyday life can sometimes take over the time you put aside for being creative. That has been me for the last few years. Work, work, work. It's all I seem to do. Well now it's time re-address this and get the balance back in my life. Yes I still have to work full to pay my bills and put food on the table, but I need to find me under all the boring day to day stuff. So here's a quick update on what's making me happy right now.

I've caught the planner bug and have been decorating my work and home planner since last summer. It's simple fun that makes me smile every time I open my planner. I've also started a journal and am using a Fauxdori from Lyra and Co. I love her work so much and keep being tempted to buy more. All my daughters now have a Lyradori as do some of my close friends, they are that good.

I'm still knitting and have been coaxing myself into knitting socks again. So far I have one pair finished and a second pair over half way complete. I joined a sock of the month club to spur me on. I'm currently enjoying RosiesMoments around the world in 80 days sock club the box is crammed full of goodies. Yarn, pattern, stitch markers, a mini skein for a crazy sock pattern and other little treats. Really worth the money.

That's just a quick update for now. Next time I'll tell you about Happy Mail, my Smash book and other crafting news.
